What your box is made of and how the personalization works
What is a carvdbox memory box made of?
Every carvdbox is made from solid paulownia wood, a lightweight hardwood that resists warping and holds an engraved line cleanly without splintering. The lid is where your message is engraved, and the box is sized to hold a small keepsake bouquet inside, around eight inches by five inches by three and a half inches.
How does the laser engraving work?
You write your message during checkout, up to a hundred and sixty characters, and you can add an optional motif like a heart, a set of rings, a star, or a compass. A laser then cuts the message directly into the surface of the wood. It is not printed or stamped, it is burned into the grain, so it will not fade, peel, smudge, or wash off over time.
Can I add a photo inside the box?
Yes. During the builder you can toggle on a printed photo add on for a small additional fee. We print your photo and tuck it inside the box next to the dried mini bouquet, so it is one of the first things someone sees when they lift the lid.
What if I notice a typo after I have placed my order?
Email support@carvdbox.com right away. Because boxes are engraved by hand shortly after an order comes in, we can usually catch and correct a mistake if you reach out quickly, but we cannot guarantee a change once engraving has already started.

How long does shipping take?
Most orders arrive within five to seven business days of being placed. Unlike a pre made product sitting on a shelf, each box is engraved after your order comes in, so that window includes both the time it takes us to make your box and the time it takes to ship it.
Do you ship outside the United States and Canada?
Right now we ship within the United States and Canada only. We know that is limiting for some of you, and expanding to more countries is something we are actively working toward.
Is shipping free?
Yes, shipping is included in the price you see at checkout. There are no surprise fees added at the end.

What happens if something is not right
What is your return and refund policy?
We stand behind every box with a thirty day satisfaction guarantee. If your box arrives damaged, defective, or otherwise not as described, contact support within thirty days of delivery and we will make it right, either with a replacement or a refund. Because each box is personalized, we are not able to accept returns simply for a change of mind once engraving has started, so please double check your message before submitting your order.
Is my payment information safe?
Yes. All payments are processed securely through Stripe, the same payment processor used by major companies around the world. Your card details are entered directly on Stripe's secure payment page. carvdbox never sees or stores your full card number.
How do I get in touch with a real person?
Email support@carvdbox.com any time. We read and respond to every message ourselves.
Our 30 day guarantee
If anything about your order is not right, damaged in shipping, a printing error on our end, or simply not what you expected, reach out within thirty days of delivery and we will make it right with a replacement or a refund.
